System Requirements (QA Display and QA Docs)

Database Server

  • A relational database engine is required for QA Display. The hardware requirements for client computers and servers may vary depending on the requirements of your database vendor. QA Display can run on database engines from Microsoft, Sybase, Inprise, and Oracle. Which database engine you choose will depend on your network operating system and the expected size of your database. QA Display can also access information stored in many desktop databases, including Access and Paradox. A mature database of 600 parts and related still images will require approximately 250 MB hard disk space. Disk space requirements will vary with the inclusion of digital video. The amount of information stored in QA Display is only limited by the capabilities of your server hardware and database engine. There are no internal limits placed on capacity such as the number of parts or the number of images. The system has been tested with databases of over 50,000 parts!
